Shenton Brokers

Privacy and your personal data

Draft wording for the sample site — to be reviewed before launch.

This page explains how Shenton Brokers collects, uses and protects your personal data, in line with Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA).

What we collect

  • Your answers to quote questions, such as travel dates, your date of birth, your home or your car. Some products ask for an identity number; we store it encrypted.
  • Your email address, when you save a quote, sign in or contact us.
  • Details of policies you buy through us, which the insurer sends us after you buy: the policy number, dates, premium and a summary of cover.
  • Messages you send us, including questions asked in the help panel and complaints.
  • Basic technical information, such as the type of device you use, so we can keep the site working.

How we use it

  • To price your quote with the insurers on our panel, and to show you the results.
  • To pass your answers to the insurer you choose to continue with, so you do not type them again.
  • To show your policies, documents and renewal dates in your account, and to send the reminders and messages you ask for.
  • To answer your questions and handle complaints.

We send marketing emails only if you have agreed to them, and you can stop them at any time.

Who we share it with

  • The insurer you choose. When you continue to an insurer, we pass them your answers for that quote.
  • Service providers that we engage only to run this service, such as hosting.

We do not sell your personal data.

Keeping it safe

We store identity numbers and voucher codes encrypted, limit who can see personal data, and keep it only as long as we need it for the purposes above or as the law requires.

Your choices

You can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw your consent to our using it. Email us at [email protected]. If you withdraw consent, we may not be able to give you quotes or keep your account.

To contact our data protection officer, write to [email protected] with "Data protection" in the subject.
