Claims help
Draft wording for the sample site — to be reviewed before launch.
Shenton Brokers does not decide claims: the insurer that issued your policy does. Here is how to make a claim, and where we can help.
1. Find your insurer's claims contact
Sign in to your account and open Claims. It lists the claims contact for each insurer you hold a policy with, and your policy numbers. The same details are in the policy documents the insurer sent you.
2. Tell the insurer promptly
Most policies ask you to tell the insurer as soon as you can after something happens. Late notice can make a claim harder.
- Travel emergencies abroad: call the emergency assistance number in your policy documents before you arrange treatment, where you can.
- Theft or loss: report it to the police, or to the airline or hotel, and keep the report.
- Car accidents: follow the insurer's instructions on reporting and repairs.
3. Gather your documents
Keep receipts, invoices, medical reports, police reports and photos. The insurer will tell you what it needs for your type of claim.
4. Keep a record
Note the date you contacted the insurer, the claim number it gives you and the name of anyone you spoke to.
If you are stuck
If you cannot reach your insurer or are unsure what to do next, email us at [email protected] with the insurer's name and your policy number. We will help you work out the next step.
